HOME DIY: Mason Jars

I love mason jars! I'd use them as containers for paper clips, beads, and even use them as containers for herbs and spices, sugar, salt, etc.

One day, I was in the kitchen and was pretty bored. I saw these empty jars which I had collected. I grabbed some ribbons and some other stuff, this and this, that and that, and voila! I just made these mason jars look gorgeous. ;)

Art Junkie Me

For me, scrapbooking is a great way to preserve my family's photos. Putting the photos in an ordinary album is so ancient; I want my kids and grandchildren to see pretty albums on our coffee table. I can already imagine the smiles on their faces as they turn each page and reminisce the memories that were captured.

My next big project as soon as we move in to our new home would be printing my favorite photos, organize them, and make pretty scrapbooks.

I find this very therapeutic and it's really fun. I've always been an art junkie and a scrapper since childhood. Now that I'm a mother, my love for arts & crafts has become huge because this time, I'm not doing it for a high school project...I'm doing it for my family.

In Memory of Our 1st Baby Nulma

John gave her to me as a Christmas present in 2006. John and I were sweethearts then...free as a bird, no responsibilities. Of course we are happier today and being Marcus and Enzo's parents is the best thing that has ever happened to us. Sayang...my little boys didn't have the chance to play with Nulma. I bet they'll love her and Nulma will definitely take care of them the way she took care of me.

I named her Nulma, a mermish (mermaid) language which means love. I read a book about mermaids and loved the word nulma, so I gave my Siamese baby that name. She is sooo sweet and thoughtful and very smart ha! She is beautiful as well. And I miss her. :(

Baby Nulma, wherever you are...I know somewhere over the rainbow we'd meet again. :)

This is me and Nulma when I was carrying a tiny handsome boy named Marcus inside my womb. We were sleeping here, I guess John took this photo...hahaha grabe ang chaba lang ng face ko...well of course, I was preggy back then. Those cheeks!!! :D

DIY Baby Wipes

Every week I spend almost eighty pesos for baby wipes and this is a great way to save money. :)

Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons baby wash
  • 1 tablespoon baby oil or mineral oil

Directions

You take half of the paper towel roll, put it in the container. Mix together to and a quarter cups of water, two tablespoons of baby wash and 1 tablespoon of baby oil or mineral oil depending on if you would like the fragrance or not. Then you are going to pour that over the paper towel roll. Then you are going to reach in and pull out the cardboard tubing. It’s easier to pull out once it’s wet. Then, as you need a wipe, you just reach for the center and pull out as you need a wipe, very easy. You can cut little slats in the top of the container so you can pull it out and it remains closed. Or you can leave it and just pull the lid off as you go.
